1940's Style on a Budget

Ever since I watched The Notebook I have been obsessed about the 1940's and the fashion. Pieces like knee length skirts, elegant dresses, padded shoulders, hats and blouses were all the rage and while the style looks conservative, it also has a sexiness about it.

This era was also during the Second World War so many women had to wear practical clothing and in many cases, customised existing items which makes this era even more amazing.

It was also during this era that Marilyn Monroe became very popular with her unique sense of style and entertainment. Not only was she extremely classy, but she also had a pin up feel and pushed boundaries surrounding fashion at this time.

Why not try the style for yourself? Below are some ideas!

Skirt £12, Blouse £10, Red Platform peep shoes £25, Bow £4

All for under £55!
