Wardrobe Basics!

Image thanks to ficcions

So, have you ever looked into your wardrobe and found absolutely nothing to wear even though it's crammed to the brim full of the things? I know I have. So what do we do about it? Well, I have been thinking a lot about this area recently and about my wardrobe, plus the things I wear most often. And after all this, I realised that the best solution is to keep the basics, the best you can afford, and remember that you don't need to wear them all at once. Mix and match is the key, by doing this you vary your looks but don't need to go out and buy lots more clothes! So what are the basics? Well here are some:

Plain vest top in a colour which will match the rest of your basics.

A pair of comfy flat shoes which are neutral.

A nice pair of heels or wedges which are comfortable and don't shred your feet up.

A plain neutral colour shirt.

Short or long cardigan of your preference.

A pair of your favourite jeans.

A nice skirt or dress which is flattering and goes with the reat of your wardrobe.

A great bag.

A nice think winter coat to keep you warm.

So... These are what I would consider basics. Once you have these then the rest of your wardrobe can be organised around them. Notice this doesn't include accessories - I will brush over this in a minute.

Once you have all your basics, next think about your life and activities. This is because you can plan your outfits around your life, for example work outfits, casual and evening. Don't make each of these different areas too specific as you are just restricting yourself. For example, do you prefer being more active? Or are you a bit of a social butterfly and are out most weekends? If you think that the basics don't cover certain aspects of your life then think about buying specific items which you will need. Like tights for going out or for work, trainers for casual days or for the gym and exercising. Get the drift? If you feel these things will be needed on a regular basis then by all means go out, set yourself a budget and get some.

Next is everything else. Hats, gloves, scarfs, necklaces, rings, bracelets, earrings, belts, sunglasses, socks, leggings, and the list goes on and on. Without accessories your outfits will look sylish, but adding accessories makes your look way more interesting. By accessorising your are showing off your personal style so enjoy!
