Making Friends For Life

Image thanks to icairocks

Everyone can always use new friends and people to hang out with so why is it sometimes so hard? I know personally that you meet people and they won't always be so enthusiastic. Or, maybe on your first day at university, you met loads of new faces but after a while many of them don't really talk to you any more.

So, I have made a list of things that I did when I started university for the first time and which may be helpful to you!

Remember that if they don't want to talk to you then it's their loss!

Make an effort and sit next to someone in your class who you don't know and introduce yourself.
Have a friendly and enthusiastic attitude, people are more likely to want to talk to you.
Swallow your nerves and jump right in, it's the best way!
Ask open-ended questions which allows the conversation to flow.
Don't pre-judge who you think you should be friends with as this will only restrict your relationships.

Don't try too hard to fit in. Friends are people who stick around and want to spend time with you so doing something which you don't enjoy wont' make things better!

And above all, be yourself and smile!
